Moved us from a semi in West Wickham to a bigger place near Keston. The garage and loft held more than we’d admitted to ourselves, but they took it in their stride and nothing got broken. Cheerful lot, too, which helps on a long day.
Just needed a couple of big bits shifted from Hayes to my daughter’s in Coney Hall — a sofa and a wardrobe. Booked the man and van, done in a morning, and they didn’t make me feel silly for a small job.
They cleared and moved my late father’s cottage near Hayes village. Tight doorways, low beams, a lot of memories in the boxes. They were patient and gentle about all of it, and got the piano out that I was sure was staying put.
Downsizing meant storing half our things for a while before the new flat was ready. They collected, kept everything safe, and brought it back when we were sorted. One less thing to worry about in a stressful few weeks.
