The things people ask before they book
Grouped by the kind of move you’re planning. If your question isn’t here, just ask — we’d rather give you a straight answer than leave you guessing.
Moving around Hayes
Which areas do you cover?
Hayes (BR2), West Wickham and Coney Hall (BR4), Keston, and Bromley Common — plus the neighbouring areas like Bromley town, Shortlands, Bickley and Eden Park. Whether you’re moving within the area or leaving it, we can help.
Is this Hayes in Bromley or Hayes near Heathrow?
This is Hayes in the London Borough of Bromley — BR2, near West Wickham, Keston and Hayes Common. It’s a different place from Hayes in Hillingdon out by Heathrow. If you meant the other Hayes, we’re not the right local team for it.
My road is leafy and parking is tight — is that a problem?
It’s normal around here, so no. The greener roads near Hayes and Keston Commons often mean kerbside loading with cars either side. We check access before the day, bring the right size vehicle, and get as close as the road sensibly allows.
Can you move a period cottage with narrow doorways?
Yes. Around Hayes village and Keston there are older cottages with tight doors, steep stairs and low beams. We measure the big pieces against the openings beforehand and plan how they’ll come out, so there are no surprises on the day.
Services and how we work
What’s the difference between man-and-van and a full house removal?
Man-and-van suits smaller jobs — a few items, a small flat — usually a driver and one mover. A full house removal brings a larger crew and lorry, packing if you want it, and a plan for the whole household. We’ll point you to whichever actually fits, not the pricier option.
Do you pack for me, or do I pack myself?
Either. Some people pack their own boxes and have us do the furniture and fragile bits; others hand the whole thing over. We can supply boxes and materials, pack a single tricky room like the kitchen, or wrap and box the entire house.
Do you clear houses as well as move them?
Yes. We handle house clearances — a downsize, a probate, an end of tenancy — sensitively, recycling and donating what we can rather than sending everything to the tip. It often pairs with a move, but we do standalone clearances too.
Can you store my things between homes?
Yes. If your dates don’t line up, we can store your belongings between collection and delivery so you’re not stuck. Tell us roughly how much and how long, and we’ll sort secure storage as part of the move.
Moving abroad from Hayes
Do you really move people abroad, not just around Bromley?
Yes. Alongside the local work, we run door-to-door international moves from Hayes to France, Spain, Italy and Portugal. We load in BR2 and deliver to the address abroad, with the customs paperwork handled.
Why those four countries?
They’re the routes we run most from this part of London. France is the short crossing; Spain, Italy and Portugal are the popular southern moves for families, retirees and second-home owners leaving the suburbs.
Do you handle the customs side after Brexit?
We do. For each country we prepare the inventory and customs entry so your goods travel as personal effects rather than a commercial shipment, and we manage the transit. You supply a few documents proving it’s a genuine home move; we do the rest.
Can I send just some furniture abroad rather than a whole house?
Yes — a part-load shares lorry space with other moves heading the same way, which keeps a long-distance move affordable. It’s common on the Spain, Italy and Portugal routes especially. We scope it to exactly what you’re sending.
Quotes and booking
How do you work out the price?
It comes down to how much is moving, how far, and how easy the access is at both ends. There are no fixed shelf prices — a cottage with a tight staircase is different from a semi with a driveway. For anything bigger than a room or two we’ll arrange a quick survey so the quote is accurate.
Is the quote free and without obligation?
Yes. Getting a quote costs nothing and doesn’t commit you to anything. Fill in the form or call, and we’ll come back to you to talk the move through.
How far ahead should I book?
The sooner the better, especially around month-end and weekends when demand is highest. That said, we do take shorter-notice jobs when we can — get in touch and we’ll tell you honestly what’s possible.
What areas near Hayes do you also serve?
We regularly move people in the neighbouring areas — Bromley (BR1), Shortlands and Bickley, Eden Park and Beckenham (BR3), and out towards Addington and West Wickham’s edges. If you’re close to Hayes and moving locally or abroad, just ask.
Still got a question?
Send it over with a few details about your move and we’ll come back with an honest answer — and a quote if you want one.
